Respite Service

Respite is a specialized social service providing social assistance, support, care, and supervision to children and adults with severe disabilities within specialized centers or other social services, so that family, relatives, or other people caring for the person can receive a break. Respite provides 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for up to 30 days per year.

Within Respite Services, children and adults receive accommodations, food, care, social assistance, psychological and educational support, and emergency medical care, all based on the individual needs of each person.

To access Respite, individuals should apply to the community social assistant of the Social Assistance and Family Protection Department of the local district. Respite is provided free of charge.
